# Dell price match: how to use it, and how to pay less

## Can you negotiate with Dell?

There is no formal channel today. In store, a discount sometimes depends on the salesperson and the day, and online there is no built-in way to make Dell an offer. Registering the price you would pay here is currently the only structured way to express one.

## Does Dell price match?

Yes. Dell matches a lower price from the following retailers: Amazon.com, Apple.com, BestBuy.com, BHPhotoVideo.com, HP.com, Lenovo.com, Newegg.com, Neweggbusiness.com, Microcenter.com, OfficeDepot.com, Sears.com, Staples.com, Target.com and Walmart.com. For personal computers, tablets and monitors, the lower-priced item must be new and match Dell's key specifications (processor, memory, storage, graphics, screen and operating system), as determined by Dell; competitor PCs from HP, Lenovo and Apple are covered. For electronics and accessories, the item must have an identical Manufacturer's Part Number. Competitor Price Match for personal computers is limited to a maximum of 10% of the Dell product price. The refund of the difference in prices is limited to five (5) per customer, with a maximum purchase amount of $10,000. Each product can receive only one credit. Before purchase: save the link to the lower price and share it with a Dell expert by chat or phone; Dell validates eligibility and completes the purchase. After purchase: submit the link through the Order Support portal (Get Help, My Refunds, Create Service Request, Better Competitor Pricing). Online price matching is not automatic. Checked against Dell's published policy on 16 October 2026. Price matching gets you a competitor's public price; an offer is different — it is your private price, which can go where public prices don't.

## When does Dell have sales?

Dell runs public promotions regularly, so timing a purchase around sale periods can pay. The trade-off: public sale prices are visible to everyone, apply only to what's on sale, and end when the sale ends.

## How do I get a discount at Dell?

Price matching is the surest route today: find the identical item advertised for less and ask Dell to match it. Watch for their public promotions. And register the price you would pay on this page — if Dell starts accepting offers, you'll be first to know, with your offer already queued.
