What the Registry is

A public index of retailers and their published policies on price: whether a retailer accepts offers through Bidit, and whether it price matches and on what terms. The facts about retailers come from the retailers' own public web pages and are checked by a person before they are shown. They are not personal information.

What we collect from you

If you register the price you would pay at a retailer that does not accept offers yet, we store the product you named, the price, the retailer, your email address, the exact consent sentence you agreed to, and the time. We use your email for one purpose: to tell you about that retailer, including if it starts accepting offers or makes an offer at your price. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all emails from the Registry to that address. The retailer sees only anonymous, aggregated figures (how many shoppers, at what average price), never your email or your individual record.

If you or your AI assistant call the Registry's tools (the API or the MCP server), we record the tool used, the retailer asked about, whether it was found, the calling software's user-agent string, the country the request came from, and the time. We do not record your question beyond the retailer name, and we do not record who you are.

If you browse the site, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs for a short period, which include IP addresses. We do not run advertising trackers.

Who we share with

Nobody, for marketing. The data is held on Supabase (database) and Vercel (hosting). Emails are sent through Resend. Policy pages are read by Firecrawl and the extracted text is processed by Anthropic's Claude models; none of that involves your data. Retailer facts are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence and may be reused by anyone with attribution.

How long we keep it

A registered price is kept until the retailer accepts offers and you have been told, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Tool call records are kept for twelve months as counts. Server logs are kept by Vercel for its standard retention period.

Your choices

To see, correct or delete anything we hold about you, email david@bidit.com.au. To stop emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email. A retailer that wants its entry corrected can email the same address, and the correction is made by a person.

The law we work under

Bidit is an Australian company and handles personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, and sends email under the Spam Act 2003, which is why consent to be contacted is asked for in plain words and stored with your record.
