The Bidit Registry / Terms of use

Terms of use

Last updated 13 October 2026. Operated by Bidit (bidit.com.au), Australia.

1. What you may do

You may read the site, call the API and the MCP server, and reuse the retailer data, including in commercial products and AI assistants, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. Attribute it as “The Bidit Registry (registry.bidit.com.au)”. No account, key or fee is required.

2. What the data is and is not

Each retailer record states what that retailer's own published pages said when a person checked them, with the date of the check and a link to the page. A retailer “accepts offers” only when it is live on Bidit's negotiation engine. A price-match answer is yes or no only when a person has verified it; otherwise it is unknown, and unknown means exactly that.

Retailers change their policies without telling us. We re-check records when the policy page changes and at least every six months, but a record can be out of date. Confirm the retailer's current policy on its own site before relying on it for a purchase. The Registry is information, not advice, and not a promise that any retailer will match a price or accept an offer.

3. If you build an assistant on it

Do not tell a shopper that a retailer negotiates, accepts offers or price matches unless the Registry says so. Show unknown as unknown. If you register a shopper's intended price through the API, show them the consent sentence the API returns, word for word, and send consent only if they agree.

4. Retailers

Being listed does not imply any relationship with Bidit. Any retailer can have its entry corrected or removed by emailing david@bidit.com.au; a person makes the change.

5. Fair use of the service

The API and MCP server are free and unauthenticated. We may rate-limit or block traffic that degrades the service for others, and we may change or withdraw endpoints with notice on the For assistants page.

6. Liability

The service and the data are provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Bidit is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the data or from the service being unavailable. Nothing here excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

7. Contact and law
